Charlotte, is taking on a 630-mile solo charity challenge along the South West Coast Path (SWCP) in memory of her brother, Ryan. Starting on September 5th, 2024, Charlotte will embark on a 30-day journey, covering approximately 21 miles per day—an endurance feat with an elevation equivalent to scaling Mt. Everest four times!

This monumental effort, named ‘Steps of Tribute, honours Ryan’s memory, who tragically lost his life to Meningitis in 2010. In what would have been his 30th year, Charlotte is dedicating each step to his remarkable spirit while raising funds for her family’s charity, A Life for a Cure, which has already raised over £600,000 to combat this devastating disease. The challenge will end on 5th October, tying in with World Meningitis Day.

With sponsorship from Digital Radish (Charlotte’s London-based employer) and Clifton College (the Bristol-based school both her and brother attended), Charlotte’s goal is to raise £12,500. She is calling on local communities, radio stations, and supporters to follow her journey, help spread awareness, achieve her fundraising taregt and even join her for parts of the walk.

As her first solo challenge, Charlotte’s journey is both a physical test and a tribute to Ryan’s enduring legacy. Media coverage of this challenge will help amplify awareness of meningitis, inspire community involvement across Devon , Dorset and Cornwall and  remind us all to make the most of life, just as Ryan did in the years he had.
