The Annual Meningitis Student Awareness Campaign that we support Meningitis Now with, captured the attention of Sky News. Our founder and Ryan’s Mum, Michelle Bresnahan, was asked to share Ryan’s story as part of a podcast to address Meningitis Awareness Week in September 2020.
Claire Wright from Meningitis Research Foundation talked through the science of meningitis and Ben de Souza, a survivor of meningitis also shared his experience.
The Sky News Daily Podcast with Dermot Murnaghan, is well worth a listen as it provides a real insight into the dangers of meningitis and what protection is now available against this deadly disease. It is especially important during the current coronavirus pandemic as symptoms might be mistaken for Covid 19 or missed completely.
Whilst it is always deeply upsetting to relive the tragic events that took Ryan’s life on 31st March 2010, Michelle continues to believe that by sharing Ryan’s story, young lives will be saved. A legacy that Ryan’s family always hoped for.
