Fantastic news that The London Marathon is returning this year on Sunday, October 3rd 2021. We are lucky to have 4 runners taking part and Michelle is excited to be going along to support them throughout all of their 26.2188 miles – that’s a combined total of over 100 miles! It’s such a massive undertaking and we are always so grateful that our supporters choose ‘a Life for a Cure’ to be part of their focus and achievement.

Sian James: A very close family friend of the Bresnahan’s, Sian has been an absolute superstar & already ran hers virtually in 2020, raising a whopping £2,756. Sian signed up for running the 2020 Marathon during the charity’s Ladies Blingo event in November 2019. The evening’s merriment may have been part of her decision but she has certainly smashed the challenge and is excited to be taking her training to the streets of London and adding to her total. Ella & Hugo: We were chuffed when Ella Holbrook approached us nearly a year ago for two places for her and her boyfriend Hugo. Ella attended the same school as Ryan and has been a great supporter of Ryan’s Hockey Tournament over the years. Ella & Hugo’s story is “As many of you know, we love a challenge and so one lockdown evening we decided to take on the ultimate challenge. We are privileged to run for Meningitis Now/a Life for a Cure, a charity that is close to our hearts and a worthy cause. In the memory of Ryan Bresnahan, a Clifton College student, a talented sportsman and loved by everyone.” Click here to donate.

Josh Packer: It’s great to see the old faces coming through to support us. Josh is also an ex Clifton College pupil, and friends with Ryan’s sister Charlotte from a young age so guess you would say – he’s grown up with the charity.  Josh was all set to run it in 2020 but wanted to wait for it to return to London. Josh feels it’s a real honour to be running for a charity close to him and continuing Ryan’s next chapter in raising as much money and meningitis awareness as possible. Click here to donate.

We have some exciting news for London Marathon 2022 so watch this space…Until then, a huge thank you to our 4 runners and to all their family and friends for donating and supporting them through this memorable challenge. This will tip our fundraising total over £550,000 – totally awesome – thank you!!
